A shortcut is a kind of a link to a fact (content-item) of your platform. Shortcuts exist only in the Structure service. In Structure you can build a structure-tree by creating shortcuts and grouping them in folders. Shortcuts can be created and deleted as often as you want. The real fact will be not affected by this.
